DRUM CAMP EVENING PERFORMANCES Each night Drum Camp turns into a magical environment, whereby a feast of entertainment awaits you, offering a full evening of stage performances, drumming and dancing around the fire, Open Mike Stage and a Café dance and social zone featuring Global beats master DJ Dubious. MAIN STAGE PERFORMANCES: THURSDAY 8th JULY: Hans Sutton & Djembe Djins, Ramon Goose and Diabel Cossokho, The Sweetbeats FRIDAY 9th JULY: HangHang, Hossam Ramzy & his Egyptian Orchestra, Cuban Combination SATURDAY 10th JULY: John Blood Trio, Seckou Keita & Sounds of West Africa, Kissmet SUNDAY 11th JULY: Jose Ferrera's Cuban Rumba, Drum Camp All Stars, Mr Will's Big Soukous Band with special guests  KISSMET Fusing Bhangra and rock with cataclysmic live drumming, every song played carries an amazing energy, and each is worthy of a finale. We have worked with them before, so get ready to go Indian on Saturday night. Kissmet have raised the roof at many a festival including Glastonbury, Larmer Tree and Wychwood - and now appearing at Drum Camp 2010! Hossam Ramzy & His Egyptian Orchestra Making a very welcome return to Drum Camp is the legendary Egyptian percussionist HOSSAM RAMZY, who will be joined by his partner SERENA RAMZY and their ensemble of Nile Musicians - whom Hossam lovingly refers to as 'The Buena Vista Social Club of Cairo'! Need we say more.. Seckou Keita & The Sounds of West Africa We are marking 15 years of a wonderful working relationship with our friends from West Africa, and have an awesome line up of musicians led by the incredibly gifted SECKOU KEITA. He will be joined on stage by the likes of MODOU DIOUF, VIEUX BAKAYOKO, IYA SAKO, MOC SAWANE, LANDING MANE & DIENE SAGNA amongst others, delivering what will probably be the most explosive showcase of drum and dance on the planet. Crossing the Atlantic, we are presenting for the first time at Drum Camp hot salsa band CUBAN COMBINATION. Featuring former members of top Cuban band Sur Carribe, this is a star studded All-Cuban line up led by their musical director and pianist Rene Alvarez, and featuring the amazing Conga and Timbale rhythm section of Randy Hechevarria and Michel Castellanos. Mr.Will's Big Soukous Band We're all set for a grand finale featuring MR WILL'S BIG SOUKOUS BAND, highly charged dance music with Congolese style guitar grooves with the Ugandan vocals of Sebi Lubwama..and no doubt a few special guests to join them. Ramon Goose and Diabel Cissohko RAMON GOOSE and DIABEL CISSOHKO, are two exceptional musicians who have created a stunning musical collaboration where Kora genius meets up with missisippi blues slide guitar. We only had a small taste of them last year, but with a new CD to promote, and a full backing band, this will be a very special treat for 2010. The Sweetbeats
And last but not least, we invite you get your dance shoes on and head down to Orange Street as THE SWEETBEATS are back, skanking up our opening night with authentic 60's style Jamaican Ska and Reggae, topped up with lashings of brass and dub.
JOHN BLOOD A special guest at this year's event is musician and singer/songwriter John Blood. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, his music is influenced by the likes of Bob Marley, Lord Kitchener amongst others, and of course his deep rooted ancestral links with Africa. He will be performing an acoustic set with guitar drums and voice.
